Name the suit you will not keep

When someone says Sichuan mahjong, they often mean 血战到底. Only the three suits are in the set. You declare one suit missing, and the first win does not clear the table.

  1. 108 tiles. No winds, no dragons, no flowers, no jokers.
Craks, bams, and dots. That is the whole set.
  2. After the deal you choose one suit to void. Tiles of that suit have to leave before you can win.
    Bams and dots can stay.
If craks are the missing suit, these have to be discarded.
  3. You call pungs and kongs. You do not chow. A run can appear from draws, but you do not take a discard to build one.
A pung is a call. A sequence is not.
  4. In 血战到底 the first winner shows the hand and sits out. The other three keep drawing. 血流成河 is a related Sichuan game in which winners stay in until the wall ends.

The American course, with honors and jokers, starts at the tiles.
